Impacts that matter
For over 20 years, supported by technology and constant innovation, Mercado Libre has pursued the goal of democratizing e-commerce and digital financial services to transform the lives of millions of people in Latin America. To this end, Euromonitor was asked to conduct a socioeconomic impact study to understand and measure how its solutions ecosystem generates value and boosts the development of the countries in the region. The study revealed that more than 900 thousand families in the region derive their primary income from the platform, which in turn creates an average of 6 jobs per hour. This is further amplified by the SMEs with which they connect-: 6 out of 10 are family projects generating an average of 4 to 11 new jobs; one out of 4 is led by a woman. These are the impacts that really matter.
